BREATHWORK
Our breath acts as a compass, reflecting how things are going: Shallow or irregular breathing often signals emotional tension.
So, how do we breathe right?
Shouldn’t we actually be able to do that? Yes, we can – and very much so! But what does your breath do when overfilled streets, dense crowds, maybe certain living conditions, and mental as well as physical injuries cause you to breathe mostly as if you were on the run? Stress almost always causes us not to breathe fully. The breath may just fill the upper part of the lungs, and we are already breathing out! Your breath is the energy your organism needs.
Imagine allowing your breath to flow calmly into all the cells of your body. It’s a bit like an inner, invigorating shower – the organs can work refreshed and be at your best service, thanking you with well-being.
Deep breathing improves blood circulation, strengthens the immune system, and can lower blood pressure.
With consistent deep breaths, you’ll gradually reconnect with yourself, gaining a clarity that fosters natural serenity. From this place of calm, it becomes wonderfully easy to approach yourself with love and compassion. Stressful events will also have the space and time to gently resolve.
In addition, regular breathing practice nurtures another valuable virtue: patience. With patience comes loving kindness, both toward yourself and others.
“Stress almost always causes us not to BREATH FULLY. The breath may just fill the upper part of the lungs – and we are already breathing out! Your breath is the energy your organism needs.”
First things first!
A good start is really to start at the beginning – here on this beautiful planet.
As unique as it is, so are you. Equipped with your very own blueprint, the moment you are born, you will be given the breath of life – our breath, prana.
Prana denotes the life energy that flows through everything. Our life begins with the first and ends with the last breath. We can only live as long as we breathe. Humans breathe around 20,000 times a day, moving around twelve cubic meters of air. We breathe non-stop, for a lifetime, and often not really properly.
We can feel it all over our bodies – because of the lack of oxygen carried by the breath, we are not really doing well. We cannot concentrate, we cannot think clearly, we are energetically drained, and irritable. We also transport that to the outside world, and our environment reacts to it, creating a vicious cycle.
What changes when you train your breathing regularly:
- A more balanced basic attitude,as you can directly influence your emotional state with your breathing.
- An alert, sharp mind, and better concentration.
- A better supply of the whole body by utilizing the full lung capacity.
- An increase in general well-being.
- A deep breath also releases more endorphins from the body.
- Breathing is the perfect introduction to maximum relaxation and meditation.
Breathing and “Presence Processing”:
If you have decided for yourself that the world – your world, your perception, your feelings, your state of being – does not correspond to your longing, and you want to change things, then the thought that change begins with you could be obvious. But what does it mean when you keep hearing that you should start with yourself? What does “be the change you wish to see” mean?
By acknowledging and integrating these buried emotions, we can live more authentically and free ourselves from old patterns and limiting beliefs. One book that has been a game-changer for many people in this regard is “The Presence Process” by Michael Brown.
